Project for the partial renovation of the Postulate henhouse in Diébougou
The Postulate of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in Burkina Faso is located in Diébougou, in the southwest of the country. It is a formation center for young girls seeking to give meaning to their lives or thinking about religious life. Each year, the Postulate welcomes around ten young women from Burkina Faso, Cameroon and Nigeria.
A few years ago, a henhouse was built on the site to help provide financial support and generate income. Raising chickens was intended to enable them to meet part of their food requirements and to sell their products (chickens and eggs) outside. It turned out that the fence that had been put up could not prevent the hens from being stolen at night, or when the postulants were absent for formation outside the Postulate.
We’d like to go back to the drawing board and redesign the fence with more suitable materials to prevent outsiders from entering the henhouse.
Ø Objectives:
* Promote self-reliance in food provision for the Postulants.
* Improve the facilities and their security.
Ø Needs expressed:
* Supply of materials: cement, metal gate, posts, wire fencing: 780 €
* Cost of labor to complete the work: 250 €
