“All is grace”, the words that sustained Sister Clémentine TAPSOBA in her consecration. On Saturday 30 September 2023, in the parish of Saint Joseph Mukassa in Koudougou, Burkina Faso, Sr Clémentine TAPSOBA, Daughter of the Holy Spirit, will celebrate her perpetual vows.
In order for this day to please the Lord, Clémentine had a time of preparation through the “Approaches to Perpetual Vows” session at Mater Christi, a place of formation and promotion of religious life, a session which took up all the fundamental elements of religious life. After a time of retreat at the Benedictine monastery of Koubri, in the diocese of Ouagadougou, elements of DHS religious life were discussed at congregational level.
On the evening of Friday 29 September 2023, we had a time of prayer in the chapel of the Koudougou community where Clémentine shared with us her personal experience in her re-reading led by the Holy Spirit.
Saturday 30 September 2023 remains an unforgettable day for Clémentine and all the sisters of the Vice-Province. Friends, relatives and collaborators came to witness this total gift to the Lord and to accompany us with their prayer and support through song and dance.
Bishop Joachim OUEDRAOGO, Bishop of the Diocese of Koudougou and President of the Eucharistic celebration, was assisted by Bishop Alexandre BAZIE, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Koudougou. In his homily, the Bishop recalled the meaning of all commitment. For him, the missionary sensitivity of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit towards the poor, the sick and children is very real, but it begins first of all in community. He reiterated his gratitude for our presence in the diocese and hoped that other communities would open up in the future, especially in the new parishes. He addressed the parents, thanking them and asking them not to stand in the way of their daughter’s future consecration. Many appreciated the beauty of the celebration and the depth of the ritual of the vows.
Sister Silvie ROAMBA, DHS – Vice-provincial of Burkina Faso.
