On the evening of April 2nd, 2025, members of the Council of Congregation (CC) gathered at the Île Blanche Welcome House in Locquirec, Côtes d’Armor, Brittany, for their yearly meeting.
The newly nominated leaders of France/Belgium and Nigeria were also in attendance. The community’s warm reception set the tone for a meaningful encounter.
Sister Ann ALMODOVAR, the Superior General, delivered an inspiring opening speech, welcoming participants to the CC meeting. The serene environment, adorned with flowers and the soothing sounds of birdsong, complemented the ebb and flow of the sea tides, fostering an atmosphere of silence, contemplation, reflection, and discernment.
As the CC members engaged in thoughtful discussions, the presence of the Spirit of Pentecost was palpable, uniting them as a body of the Congregation. The global landscape and demographic shifts served as reminders for the CC to remain open to God’s surprises.
At the festive Eucharist, the Superior General and her team expressed heartfelt appreciation to the outgoing leaders of France/Belgium and Nigeria for their selfless service of love. As new leaders take the helm, she warmly welcomed them as they continue the service of love in their new mission.
Gratitude was expressed to the Spiritual Family for their prayers, the management and staff of Île Blanche, and all those who contributed to the success of the 2025 Council of Congregation meeting.
In this Jubilee Year, the waves of the sea tides symbolize the restoration of hope, reminding us of the power of faith, unity, and collaboration. As we journey together, may we continue to be guided by the Spirit, embracing the surprises and opportunities that lie ahead.
