Dear sisters in the congregation – and all those who visit its site – we, the Daughters of the Holy Spirit of the Vice-Province of Burkina Faso, come to inform you of our Assembly for the beginning of the year 2024-2025.
From Friday 6 to Sunday 8 September 2024, our Assembly for the start of the pastoral year was held at the Diébougou-Bagane community. The aim was to work together to find our direction for the year, so that we can better serve Christ, following the example of Marie Balavenne and her companions – the Foundresses – in our current context. It was a moment of fraternal sharing, of listening to each other, of laughter, and above all of great joy for us to find ourselves ‘linked to those whom God has associated with us’ (Rule of Life: art. 5 to 9) for this common search.
During this Assembly, the leaders of our various works shared their assessment with us; it was an opportunity to express our gratitude for the service rendered and to put forward new proposals for moving forward. Our young nuns also shared their experiences of holiday sessions with us, which helped to build and enrich our lives together and our mission.
Then we found our orientation for the year in a climate of prayer and discernment. This orientation invites us to fraternity, communication and openness among ourselves and towards everyone in the mission. We will continue to consent to this project, to flourish today wherever the Lord, Master of the harvest and of the mission, leads us. The year is launched… Godspeed!!!
